Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Infrastructure

Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
Develop ETL/ELT workflows to integrate data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, third-party services).
Manage and optimize data storage solutions (SQL/NoSQL databases, data warehouses, data lakes).
Ensure data quality, reliability, and availability for business-critical applications.
Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and analysts to deliver end-to-end data solutions.

Technical Leadership

Mentor, train, and guide junior data engineers, reviewing code and providing constructive feedback.
Establish best practices for coding standards, data modeling, and pipeline management.
Contribute to technical design discussions and support system architecture decisions.
Drive adoption of new tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve productivity and performance.

Process & Collaboration

Work with cross-functional teams (PMs, BAs, DevOps) to align data solutions with business goals.
Contribute to Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and estimation.
Document processes, pipelines, and workflows for knowledge sharing.

Requirements

4+ years of professional experience in data engineering or backend engineering roles.
Strong skills in SQL (query optimization, indexing, partitioning).
Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
Experience with data pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Prefect, Luigi, or similar).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud-native data services.
Good understanding of data modeling, ETL patterns, and data governance.
