From a Business Analyst to a PM role quite by chance, Alice Nguyen always wishes to systematize practical experience with a solid project management foundation. The PM Capabilities Program 2026 is the opportunity for her to gradually professionalize that journey.
When practical experience is not quite enough
"I mainly do PM by instinct."
That is how Alice Nguyen describes herself when looking back at her internal project management journey. Starting as a Business Analyst, she came to the PM role quite by chance when the job required project coordination. Currently, although holding the position of Product Manager, she still directly leads many internal projects and wishes to develop long-term in Project Management. The BA background gives her an advantage in logical thinking and prioritizing tasks. However, she always feels she lacks formal project management knowledge.

"I know how to do it, but I don't really understand the framework behind it or what a PM needs to prepare for the project to run effectively from the start."
That is also why she joined the PM Capabilities Program 2026. Unlike many others, she does not expect the program to provide a "success formula." What she hopes is to learn as much as possible from sharing sessions and colleagues' practical experiences.
Valuable Lessons from Stakeholder Management
After the first session, the content she found most valuable was Stakeholder Management. As someone mainly working on internal projects, she often works with department heads, CEOs, or the Board of Directors. However, previously, stakeholder management was mainly based on experience rather than a systematic method.
"I realized that if stakeholders are not well managed from the beginning, the project can easily face difficulties in later stages."
Understanding who the stakeholders are, what they care about, and how to communicate with them gave her a new perspective on the PM role.

If she had to describe the session in 3 words, she would choose:
Effective – because she learned a lot from other PMs in the class.
Dynamic – because of the open and interactive learning atmosphere.
Inspirational – because she accompanied experienced PMs, which motivated her for the development journey ahead.
For Alice, PM Capabilities 2026 is not just a course but an opportunity to turn accumulated practical experience into a stronger professional foundation for the road ahead.
